Python Friday #29: Humble Software Bundle for Python

While listening to Talk Python to Me, I noticed an ad for the Talk Python Training Humble Bundle. As it turns out, this package offers a great value for your money – but this offering will only last for about 5 more days. Act quickly if you are interested.

This post is part of my journey to learn Python. You can find the other parts of this series here.

What is it?

The full name for this bundle is “Learn Python Programming with PyCharm” and it is a collection of Python courses and resources. It starts at 1 € and goes up to 25 €. The more you pay, the more content you get.

The PyCharm IDE is not the main focus of this bundle. You can learn about PyCharm (and get a license for up to 6 months – depending on the package you buy), but the most content is about Python and works in VS Code and any other editor.

Why should you care?

It is an easy and low-priced way to get a lot of training material for Python. It is not from one single company, but from various publishers. I especially like the possibility to see how the different creators teach Python. If I do not like a course, I can go to another one in the bundle.

The bundle contains videos, books and online services that sends you code challenges. This covers different learning styles and should allow you to find enough material in a form that suits you.

Did you miss it?

If you check their blog you can see that they frequently publish Humble Bundles for software. To catch the next one on Python you should subscribe to their newsletter or follow them on Twitter.

First experiences

So far, I am very much enjoying the course on Flask and the Python Tricks video. I already got my money’s worth back and a lot of new ideas for future posts for Python Friday. If you want to learn Python you should get this bundle.
