Well-Hidden Windows Gems: Copy the Full Path of a File

For years I took the long way around to get the full path of a file in Windows: Copy the path from the address bar of the file explorer, paste it into a temporary file, go back to the file explorer, hit F2, select the whole name with CTRL-A and paste that into the file as well. It works, but it is a lot of work.

A much simpler way: hit SHIFT when you make a right click on the file and then select “Copy as Path” from the context menu:

In Windows 10 you have an even simpler way: Just select the file and click on the “Copy Path” button in the Ribbon:

Either way, you end up with the same result but have to do a lot less work…
